LOST COMPANIONS INTERNATIONAL CD REVIEW

LOST COMPANIONS INTERNATIONAL, a band made up of Travis Trevisan, Nick Maybury, Brandon Sumner, Scott Tullius, and Jeremy McDermott, is out of Escondido. The CD is different than most for two reasons. First, instead of a frontman there is a computer that does the vocals as the band plays instrumental riffs. Second, this is probably the only band sound that is Goth Christian metal in the post rock genre. The four song CD (coupled with four songs from a group called BEING WITH) features mostly instrumental music played with the computer doing the prerecorded vocal loops. This is not any typical Christian rock. The quality production and engineering are underplayed by the dreamlike aspect of music made for contemplating life and religion. Think 'Alice In Wonderland' at church seated next to the rabbit who's finally on time, both mushroom mellow. - PT ROTHSCHILD
