For those of you who weren’t at the first Farm Aid hosted by Willie Nelson and friends back in the 80’s, this 2 CD set is a great way to hear some of the great road house sounds alive in America today. Road house music is that sound you find in a rocking club, a band bordering in blues and rock n roll – Detroit style. Always is there a wailing sax involved. Delbert and the boys broke free of just being a pack-em-in house band to touring the ‘chitlin’ circuit with their Top 40 hit ‘Giving it up for your love’, which is included here. – P.T. Rothschild
