THE FIRST OF TWO REPORTS ON THE REAL ‘UNDER’ PART

Temecula, CA – Most of my music reports about new music or tales of the ‘underground’ come from locations that are known, commercially underground spots, you might say. However, there is an underground to the underground. This is the first ‘gonzo’ report on one purposely hidden side of the scene, the punk side. This ‘secret location’ has been known to me for a while but when you’re a social butterfly on a bicycle, you can’t always be ‘Johnny on the spot’. But as the ‘historian’ of the music scene, you get around to checking out things that might make a little piece of local history and add another strand to the music quilt of the valley. This is especially true when you find out a friend of yours is planning to ‘Bedrock’ it there with his new band. So me and ‘the crew of you know who’ paid a visit to where the dust rattled under the radar. The accommodations were bare-bone but the hospitality was all Ritz-Carlton. Here in pictures is the real underground punk/pit scene in the valley.
