CLINT EASTWOOD, MORGAN FREEMAN, MATT DAMON, OH MY!
Temecula, CA – Being just down the street from the main back lots of Hollywood, you tend to feel the buzz while folks back east are bracing for the next big blizzard. If you’re lucky enough to see the reason for the buzz, well, that’s an added plus. After seeing the interview with Eastwood and Freeman a day earlier, I caught their new movie at a matinee with a friend.

BAND THAT STARTED IT ALL SHOWS MATURITY
Temecula, CA – Some people know the back story of my start as the local ‘scene’ historian. Though there were several streams leading up to it, they all joined at a river called Finch, commencing at The Stampede ‘Day After Chill’ show on November 24th, 2002, which headlined the band. On that day I saw the raw power of the future in youth alternative rock. Saturday night I revisited my roots.

CHARITY OF YOUTH TOPS FIRST ACT
Temecula, CA – As I write this looking outside the office window, it is a cold, damp, overcast day with a chance of rain. The whole valley looks washed out in color. I point out the weather today because most of my readers probably picture me having all this fun I write about in stereotypically sunny So Cali style. Most of the time it is like that, but not always. Sometimes things are different from what you think. Recently the ‘you’re only in it for the money’ card was played to talent director, Ivan, of the Vault.

THE ELECTRIC SCENE HERE IS A CLOSED CIRCUIT
Temecula, CA – This story is dedicated to Candice who recently moved back to being a Georgia peach. She once introduced me to some young friends as, “This is Mr. Pete, he makes all us ‘scene kids’ look cool to the outside (Temecula Valley) world.” That is not as hard as it would seem because of the ‘Naked City’ syndrome in the scene. You see, Sports Fans, back in the day there was a TV show called the Naked City that ended each show with the tagline, “There are 8 Million stories in the ‘naked city’ (NYC), you have just seen one of them.” Well, there aren’t 8 million stories in this fully clothed area, but the people I know in the scene around here have interesting stories themselves worthy of any TV show, and these stories are real. Here’s one of them for your perusal.
