COUGAR & COYOTE UGLY ALERT ISSUED FOR MICKEY AVALON SHOW

THE HOTTEST ‘HOT SUMMER NIGHT’ WON’T BE IN TEMECULA AFTER ALL
Perris, CA – Although many of the free main stream media print zines proclaim a music series happening in T-town this August as ‘hot summer nights’, folks in the loop know Grandma Kizzi’s Boys and sleep walking cover bands don’t hold a candle’s heat to jacked-up, chromed-out, lifted pick-up trucks and sand buggies, not to mention the hottest girls this side of the Glamis desert scene.
This Saturday 8/16 Malcolm Smith Motorsports brings you THE hottest night this summer with the Dirt Alliance’s Dirt Tour featuring Mickey Avalon, one of the steamiest, brashest young performers to ever come out of LA. I know because I saw him live last year at LA’s Neighborhood Music Fest (see archives) and he made my (female) photographer’s sun glasses fog. It was the first time I really experienced the bona fide LA urban music scene and he made a blistering impression. So the Review must issue an alert to all and any C&CUs, see this show at your own risk. After all, what can you say about a dynamic entertainer who has the words ‘Thank You’ tattooed across his lower stomach area except, ‘now that’s what I’m talking about’?
Add to this $250,000 sand rails, buggy drags, off-road & lifestyle shows, a model shoot, and new music scene bands Inverse (6PM), Inhale (4PM), Seenless (4:40PM), No Dice (5:20PM), Divide The Day (6:50PM), Destroy The Runner (7:35PM), OPM (label mates of the Kottonmouth Kings @8:15PM, Tattoo Junkies (9PM) and of course the headliner Mickey Avalon (9:30-10:30PM), well then you have the forecast for the very hottest summer night in the Inland Valley, bare none!! So BE THERE, Be There, be there. If you miss this show, you better be dead, or in jail. And if you’re in jail – BREAK OUT!! www.myspace.com/ivanpromotions, www.myspace.com/dirtalliance.

MR. PETE’S BREAKFAST BURRITOS NOW PREPARED ON THE SPOT

LIBRARY SNACK WAGON BECOMES AN INSTANT CLASSIC
Temecula, CA – In this time of established businesses closing down around T-town, it doesn’t seem like the greatest time to open a new business, or does it? After all, Parker Bros. made a mint by starting a board game business during the ‘Great Depression’. As a champion of the new music scene which thrived here for a while, I like to print stories that show what happened to different scene members once the incumbent city councils shut the scene down. Both Mr. Pete’s Breakfast Burrito Extravaganza and the new library snack cart are the brainchildren of some of the aforementioned and highly creative scene members. Mr. Pete’s, whose short operating history has been chronicled here in the Review, has moved it up to the next level. With Peter, Mikey, (the newest members to the MPBBE family), and Ivan (Ivan Promotions) on the welder, working up at the McClain ranch, MPBBE now has a state-of-the-art onsite mobile prep kitchen, cutting the time to prepare the delicious MPBBE ingredients that have made the burrito stand a favorite spot to eat at the Wednesday Farmers Market in the Mall parking lot. “We save a lot of money on not having to rent a prep kitchen any more, plus the time to get there and then transport the food back here and set up for the day’s sales,” said co-owner Paul Bahou. Neighboring tamale and snow cone vender George, who got the very first breakfast burrito back on 6/11 when MPBBE debuted, took one look at the new prep kitchen and said, “Beautiful!” He then immediately sought out Paul to make arrangements about a co-op deal to allow him to use the gleaming new facility at the next Farmers Market also. Meanwhile Ivan scored some shelving from Cuppy’s former owner to add even more versatility to the newly constructed trailer unit.
Meanwhile across town, library readers and small booklovers have made the snack cart at the new library on Pauba Road which stands above the campus of TVHS, a roaring success, according to afternoon (Full Value Entertainment) employee Capt. Tuesday, a name familiar to those in the scene who used to watch ‘open mic’ nights at Cuppy’s, a venue for undiscovered and under-the-radar talent. “It has been more successful than I imagined it would be, dammit,” said the Capt. in his dour dry wit voice, before smiling broadly, acknowledging his levity. Owner Bill Gould said that the plan now is to get the city’s backing to put in a small table or two in the large entrance lobby area to accommodate those patrons who would like to have someplace to sit as they enjoy a snack with a tasty beverage. As the city mulls over the possibility of adding another bowling alley (ho-hum) to accompany the ones in Murrieta and Lake Elsinore, further diluting those business dollars or comes up with another ‘master plan’ of some sort, it is a breath of freshness that former inhabitants of the squelched scene keep providing the town that spurned them. But then getting something ‘cool’ for everyone between the ages of 16-35+ from the city ‘that doesn’t do cool’ for anyone is like nailing Jello to a tree, isn’t it?
