O’s sis gives the dish
Temecula, CA – Recently one of my print publishers inquired about putting my picture next to my column byline as she had done with several other writers whose smiling faces graced their monthly musings. “No,” I replied. “I’m not the story.” Flash forward. I’m at an event yesterday doing my incognito ‘social butterfly’ thing with the different vendors there when I strolled almost past this one Ez-Up but suddenly stopped mid-stride. My ‘Spidey sense’ was tingling. I turned and asked of the dignified looking lady with the designer bonnet sitting in the middle of the group of three, “Where’d you get that ‘Oprah Winfrey’ hat?” Her reply, in explanation of her choice of head covering style was, “I’m Oprah Winfrey’s sister. Don’t I look like her?” I looked at the style of dress, the surrounding people, and the cause they represented with my peripheral vision, and looked closer into Reatha Reedus’ face before declaring, “You look just like her!” Now I know what you’re saying, have you ever seen Oprah in person and close up? No, but when you search ‘Oprah Winfrey’ and 2,590,000 results come up, you know that easily this is one of the most recognized faces on the planet. Reatha and Oprah share the same father’s traits so the facial and physical structure similarities between the two women are strong when you take notice. Before I revealed my secret Review identity, I found out that the Temecula International Film (And Music) Festival has received over 800 films from all over the world to be reviewed. A request for help coupled with knowing what will fly with the conservative crowd who now come out, is what was put forth to me so I in turn put it out to the local readers. “Only about a hundred and twenty films will make the cut, so we can really use some more help,” she confided. Before I said ‘good-bye’ and gallivanted off to my next stop she had one more bit of info on the DL. “I don’t tell anyone where I live around here because I don’t want to the (MSM) bothering me but I’ll tell you, I’m looking for someone to be in a children’s show.” To be continued…
Cool Drinks at the areas Hottest Library
If you happen to be over at the new Temecula Public Library on Pauba Road, above Temecula Valley High School, enjoying the spectacular view from the north viewing wall windows while you read or use your laptop to research your homework assignment, and your stomach starts to growl or you get thirsty, suffer no more and hustle your buns over to the brand spanking new snack cart operated by Full Value Entertainment. Bill Gould in full cooperation with the City of Temecula have launched a new program in line with what’s happening around the country at the more urban arenas of where today’s readers gather. Offering healthy snacks, water, chips, and juices, the library hopes to add a little something extra to its bottom line while making your friendly neighborhood library a little more user friendly. Also on the menu at the trendy mobile uptown ‘grub & grab’ are handy gadgets to help you in your every day life as a student like the innovative Ultra Ear Light for reading in bed or a solar powered flashlight to help you see the pathway when you come home from the library late at night. And don’t be surprised if you also hear the soft strains of acoustic music somewhere close to the cart. Anything to make your next visit to the library a ‘full value’ experience is the motto sez Bill.
