Menifee, California - At about 1250pm today a brush fire broke out in the area of Barker Lane and Keller Road. This area is southeast of The Farm and burning in a field of thick brush. The cause of the fire is under investigation, to see a map of the approximate location of the fire - click here. More info will be posted as it becomes available.

The fire burned a total of 10 acres and no structures were threatened or damaged.

Temecula, California - On Saturday night in Temecula the Riverside Sheriffs Department will be hosting a DUI and Drivers License checkpoint at an undisclosed location. At a recent checkpoint near Canyon Lake the Sheriffs Department issued 67 citations and impounded 45 cars for issues like expired vehicle registration, no car insurance, child safety seat violations and 9 drivers were arrested for DUI. In addition, 1 person was arrested for warrants. Let this be a warning to you about drinking and driving, as well keeping your car registered and insured. It would also be in your best interest to not be speaking on your phone at the checkpoint, on July 1 2008 it became against the law to use a cell phone while driving unless you are using a ‘hands free’ device.
