Woman murdered in her home in Murrieta, help sought in finding suspect
Murrieta, California - On Monday, 4/28/2008 at 845am the Murrieta Police Department responded to a home in the 39600 block of Tamarisk St regarding a reported residential burglary. The male adult owner of the home called on 9-1-1 and reported his house had been ransacked and he found his wife unconscious in the upstairs master bedroom.
The husband told police his wife was home alone when he had left the home for about an hour to run some errands. Upon his return, he drove into his garage and found the side door to the garage had been forced open. He entered the family home and found his wife unconscious in the upstairs master bedroom.
Officers arrived on scene and met the victim’s husband and mother who directed them to the upstairs bedroom where the wife had obvious signs of trauma. The officer and paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim but were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead at 908am.
The victim, 40 years old, lived in the home with her 39 year old husband and two children, a 6 month old son and a 12 yr. old daughter. The children were not home at the time of the burglary and murder and had stayed the night with extended family members.
The death is being investigated as a homicide. The victim’s name, cause of death and family information are not being released at this time. Family members and neighbors are being questioned by detectives for any information which would help solve this brutal and senseless crime.
