Temecula Music Fest 2008 seeks bands, artists, sponsors and vendors
February 28, 2008 by Bill Gould, Publisher.
On Friday May 16 the festival will focus on the regions many excellent young bands. This will provide the opportunity for many teen and college age bands to play a big outdoor stage in an amphitheater setting. Saturday will feature a more wide range of performers, featuring touring bands from out of state, local favorites and some great up and coming bands signed to indie labels. Sunday’s line up will be a bit different than years past, with a family focus.
“We are thrilled that this year we are adding a Family Day on Sunday. It will be full of performances from our areas finest family friendly entertainers, like Guilty Conscience. They bring a good vibe and perform songs you know and love. Bring a blanket, relax on the grass, enjoy some food and have a rad day with the family.” said Bill Gould the festival founder and director.
The submission process has been changed this year, entertainers of all styles are encouraged to enter this year including dance, comedy, and of course bands, hip hop, and acoustic musicians. Also, a big change is that every person who submits a complete packet gets in for free to each day of the festival.
“If you play an instrument, can dance, you think you’re funny or you sing, send in a packet and lets get you on stage.” explained Gould, “We want to see what kind of talent we have here, and we want to provide an environment where bands, performers, dancers and industry people can meet and mingle while entertaining new fans.”
Art will also play a big role in the festival this year, where art will be displayed around the festival area and in the food court. Artists should send in entries soon, as there will be a very limited amount of artists who will be selected.
“The whole experience would not be complete with out the visual aspect, because art affects all of your senses” said Jeney Kingsbury, festival manager.
Volunteers are also need for stage help, parking lot monitors, ticket takers and ushers.
“We definitely need volunteers to help get bands on and off stage” said festival stage manager Captain Tuesday “and you will get to work with a lot of bands that don’t suck.”
