Today, USA – It came out this day on MSN that the Bush and his Administration used 935 false statements in the two years running from 9/11/01 to 2003 in the run-up to launching an invasion of Iraq, now labeled a ‘war’ though that country never attacked America or sponsored any terrorists’ attack. Although people have heard this news before, it seems the truth never quite breaks the din of repeated propaganda about ‘fighting ‘them’ over there so we don’t have to fight ‘them’ over here. The report today which came from two independent sources said, “The cumulative effect of these false statements — amplified by thousands of news stories and broadcasts — was massive, with the media coverage creating an almost impenetrable din for several critical months in the run-up to war. These mea culpas notwithstanding, much of the wall-to-wall media coverage provided additional, ‘independent’ validation of the Bush administration’s false statements about Iraq,” the study concluded. The White House declined any comment about the study. Silence means consent, doesn’t it?
