Temecula man arrested after robbing CVS pharmacy of drugs

Temecula, California - An armed robbery occurred at the CVS Pharmacy located at 29610 Rancho California Road, in Temecula on November 14 at 6pm. An armed suspect entered the store waving a knife and forced his way into the pharmacy area. The suspect demanded a bottle of prescription drugs from the pharmacists and then left the store on foot. He was seen by witnesses in the parking lot in a white Ford pickup but he was able to evade witnesses.

Temecula Police Officers arrived on scene one minute after being dispatched, but learned the suspect had fled. One of the witnesses provided a license plate from the suspect’s vehicle and Temecula Officers responded to the address on the vehicle’s registration. Mark Hughes, 38 years, of Temecula, was contacted at the residence. A consent search of the residence revealed evidence of the robbery, illegal drug paraphernalia and the stolen prescription drugs. Temecula Police Officers arrested Mark Hughes for suspicion of robbery and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia.
