Mountain Lion spotted in middle of Murrieta
Murrieta, California - On Thursday November 8 at about 130pm, a Murrieta Police Officer was on patrol in the area of Lincoln Ave. and Alondra Dr. The officer observed a medium sized Mountain Lion in the creek area west of Lincoln Ave. The creek area stretches from Lincoln Ave. westbound and is bordered by Symeron Way to the north and Los Alamos Rd. to the south.
The Mountain Lion was observed walking into the heavy brush that borders the creek that runs through the field. Additional officers responded to the location and set up a perimeter. The California Department of Fish and Game responded to the area. The Fish and Game Warden searched the field area, including the heavy brush area around the creek. The Warden was unable to locate the animal in the area.
