THE LATEST ON THE VALLEY FIRES AROUND THE TEMECULA AREA
Temecula, CA – For folks living in T-town, Friday was the first day in almost a week that when you looked to the west hills, you could finally see the blue California sky overhead. Looking to the east was a different story as the orange-ish cloud of wildfire smoke slowly blew to the east, driven by an aloft on-shore breeze. The normal wind pattern had returned, a welcome help to all those courageous firefighters trying to contain and put down as many as 16 different wildfires
burning. Unknown to all those firefighters and people in general was that a message had circulated to all the southern California mosques to have the members pray at Friday’s prayer (Friday is the Sunday of Islam), a special prayer to bring rain. On Saturday afternoon, folks up in Rancho Cucamonga and the fire between Corona and Lake Elsinore were treated to a surprise downpour that surely helped quench that fire’s spread. A few droplets even spattered around Temec and Murr-town. Meanwhile at the shelters set up in the Chaparral and TVHS gyms, many people are still there because they are waiting to either be able to return to their neighborhoods, or they have received the news that their home has been lost and they are now deciding just what their next address will be. Our hearts at The Full Value Review go out to the many people who have no place to return to except a pile of ashes that was once a home full of memories, cherished treasures, and living things. As this is being written, ideas are spinning forth for a possible benefit show to help the many displaced families. Should these ideas bring forth fruit, the FVR has the exclusive ‘breaking story’ details. Also at the Temecula CRC shelter which is now home to dozens of families displaced, are an assortment of ‘lost’ pets. Volunteers are needed to help out the families and adoptions are needed for the surplus animals. No phone calls are needed, just walk in and find a staff member to be of assistance.
