BILL GOULD OPENS COFFEEHOUSE IN MURRIETA

Murrieta, CA - It was announced Wednesday of this past week at open mike at Javas/Cuppys that Bill Gould, founder of Full Value (Entertainment, Review, TV, etc.) has purchased the available ‘turn-key’ coffeehouse known as Cloud Nine or Cloud 9. The shop is located between Chuey’s and Power Gym at the intersection of the right angle formed by the ‘L’ shaped strip mall directly across the street from the Murrieta Wal-Mart by the I-15/Hot Springs exit. Captain Tuesday is currently the manager as the new shop moves to add more vegetarian treats to the menu. Acoustic music shows are scheduled to be put on for Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, similar to the old Madlins show schedule. When The Vault reopens, there will be 3 places here in the valley to see up and coming new artists ply their craft of music. For more info see here.

San Bernardino, CA - Ivan McClain has inked the promotion deal with Bad Monkey Entertainment to start talent buying for Saturday night music shows at the San Bernardino all ages ‘industrial look’ nightclub Gotham. The newly revamped nightspot features a huge dance floor, metal detectors (leave your stud belts at home) for added security, a giant elevated stage, and is air conditioned, so you can windmill till the cows come home. No word yet on whether Ivan will don tights and a cape for the first rocking show. For more details see here.

NEW INVISIBLE CHILDREN CLUB STARTS UP AT SAN MARCOS COLLEGE

San Marcos, CA - This fall you can major in Changing The World 101 by enrolling in the new Invisible Children Club on the campus of California State University San Marcos. This brand new club is being started by recent MVHS grad and Javas door person, not door bitch, Niki Whitaker. Niki first appeared on the scene not over a year ago, is cool, and worked a job of responsibility, illustrating, once again, how the scene helps ‘embiggen’ any young spirit to grow. Also helping Niki kick start the new campus program is the new SoCal Movement Intern Talitha Baker, taking the reins from Lindsey Stark. We at the Review wish them both Good Fortune in spreading the word around the Cal State San Marcos campus of a desperate situation that’s demands completion. Niki is also planning a benefit show at Javas/Cuppys on November 10th. For info on Invisible Children see archives or go here.

NEW REVISED NOISE ORDINANCE PLEASANT SOUNDING TO ALL

Temecula, CA - The Planning Commission Wednesday evening was presented with a better worded and better reworked noise ordinance that seems a lot more reasonable to all the citizens of T-town. The skinny is that there is no time limit structure to being able to have a band practice. The noise level is the key factor and with proper sound proofing and reasonable volume levels, latitude is given to musicians. The first warning would call for voluntary compliance or, ‘please lower your sound, etc.’ with the second call bringing a fine of $50. Also two neighbors could complain anonymously about a neighbor and therefore not fear retaliation. Wording for repeat offenders of noisy animals is the last thing to be worked out before the new ordinance is given to the City for passage on September 25th. Nicole Sack’s fine article in The Californian, ‘No Uproar Over Proposed Noise Law’ available still online tells more details.
