HAL FISHMAN DEAD IN 2007, IMMORTALIZED IN 1989
For most people who have an outstanding life, a lucky deserving few make the crossover from fond remembrances at the wake to urban legend and then a smaller group still go on to have a holiday or festival named after them. Hal Fishman, a newsman who worked in the local LA TV market for over forty years was an even rarer individual who made the Guinness Book of Records. Hal was immortalized long before he left this earth at the end of a long and distinguished career and full life in two ways. First he received two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (1992, 2000) which can be seen by any tourist up in Tinsel town, but it is the second form of immortalization that is seen by millions, every day and in tons of countries around the world. Before I reveal this second way Hal Fishman was immortalized, let’s take a look at the karmic ‘why’ he reaped such a spot. Most people outside of So Cali don’t have a clue to Hal Fishman. Fewer still know of his background and accidental emergence into broadcasting.
