Coachella, California - On Thursday, August 9, 2007 at about 3:00 A.M., officers from the Coachella Police Department responded to a residence on the 84000 block of Avenida Florabunda in reference to a 911 call. The officers arrived within minutes and found the front door open.The officers entered the residence and found a male victim that had been bound. A female and a three year old child were also located inside the residence. None of the victims were injured.

The investigation revealed that four Hispanic male suspects forced the front door open. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the victims and fled the location. The armed suspects were wearing masks and are still on the loose.

In the continuing investigation of the Home Invasion Robbery that occurred, Sheriff’s Investigators learned that the male resident of the house was in possession of a substantial amount of drugs and appeared to be involved in drug transactions. Joavani Verdugo, 30 years, of Coachella was booked at the Indio Jail for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales.

Although the Home Invasion Robbery appeared to have been drug related, Investigators are still looking for anyone with information that will help identify the suspects involved.
