AN OPEN LETTER FROM THE LOCKED VAULT
August 4, 2007 by PT Rothschild.
TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS ARISING FROM THE 8/3 ‘DON’T LOCK THE VAULT - ROCK THE VAULT’ SHOW
RICCARDO MANNOIA (VAULT OWNER) WRITES:
If there is one thing I learned last night, Friday August 3rd, it is that the overwhelming support we received (for The Vault as a venue) was magnificent. I also finally received the parking agreement at around 11AM that same day. It was by far the biggest obstacle for me and The Vault to overcome! I will plead my case to the City on Monday to keep The Vault open, as per their “written” correspondence where they offered the additional time if needed, but then reneged and refused to give it to me. I need to understand why this happened. (This latest reversal) just does NOT make any sense. Please understand that because the parking agreement was NOT in my hands until this past Friday, I was NOT able to comply with the city’s request for the plans. The plans are drawn based on occupancy AND parking. How can I ask my architect to draw plans when I don’t have the necessary parking yet? Now that I do, I should be able to meet the rest of their requirements. But I now need the necessary time to do so. I don’t think it is too much to ask for an additional 30 to 45 days. Indeed we have been operating for 4 months already.

TRAGEDY AND TRIUMPH: LIFE IN THE FAST STICKS
August 4, 2007 by PT Rothschild.
Temecula Valley, California - Although it may not have been spelled out in my last article, ‘Unlocking The Vault’, the reality around T-town this past week has been whether or not the city, aka Temecula, would again move to shut down or as the kids said, ‘lock The Vault’. As Riccardo sweated out the week as far as getting the additional parking confirmation in time for the Planning Commission to extend the time limit for the use permit to be granted allowing continued operation of T-town’s only new music venue, The Vault, the word went out about the newest predicament. With the ‘last show’ of the Vault happening on a Friday, you would expect a crowd to turn out, and they did.
