BEATNIK BOUNCES BACK TO BISTRO

BIPSY FINISHES LAKE ELSINORE STUDIO ALBUM

Elizabeth Amirian returned to her ‘scene’ roots the other night as she visited the coffee/sandwich shop now called Cuppy’s, but still known to the locals as Java Jo’z. It was here where the scene first developed that Elizabeth started working behind the counter as a barista. Entering the epicenter of the new music scene, ‘Bipsy’, soon moved from behind the counter to in front of it and on stage, delighting many fans with her ethnic folk songs and classical piano playing in a unique stage act that added another dimension to the growing scene-ness. The inimitable dress style of Bipsy further stroked the mystique she presented in a performer’s presence. For those of us who cut through the smoke to know the person behind the talent, one dream emerged, and that was to make a full length CD showcasing the endowment of musical capacity given to one as a gift, since Bipsy has never taken a musical lesson in her life. As the scene played out, Beatnik Bipsy as she is known on MySpace, also disappeared for awhile. Straightening up her life and sorting out the priorities, two things quickly happened. The first was that she ran across a studio and producer in Lake Elsinore, close enough that she could commute to. This arrangement became even sweeter when Bipsy started living on the premises like an ‘artist-in-residence’. Somewhere during this time Bipsy also met her ‘certain someone’. Tall, dark, and handsome with a beach house, was how she described him. So with romance in her life and fulfilling a lifelong dream to put out a CD and settle an old ‘I told you so’, it is easy to see why Bipsy named the forthcoming CD ‘Battle Cry’. It is also easy to understand why Bill Gould of Full Value Entertainment stood mesmerized after Bipsy’s set finished the other night. It would seem that the bloom is on the rose, a beatnik rose.
