IN MY CALIFORNIA HOUSE, THERE ARE MANY MANSIONS

Temecula, CA – You know you have a friend when he calls you in the midst of a personal heartache to inquire about your welfare. My old friend and drummer of the fabled Spoonbills, Woody, called to tell that me that he had seen Temecula on his local station (probably Fox) back in the Quad Cities. Like most people who don’t live in California, and particularly So Cali, he just hears things about out here. You know, we have an actor for a governor; Paris is selling her jail jumpsuit, stuff like that. So he tells me, “I’m watching TV and the guy says ‘Temecula’. I think, ‘hey, I know someone who lives in Temecula. (The TV) said your town has the highest amount of foreclosures of any town in the nation. They showed this guy who was talking to the camera and he is surrounded by mansions, f**king mansions. Behind this guy you see all these ‘for sale’ and ‘foreclosure’ signs and brown grass (because it hasn’t been watered). Humph! Where was the news when houses were accruing at a rate of $20K a month and people were making small fortunes off Real Estate in Temecula? It would seem the good real estate does is oft buried under the brown grass while the evil reverberates through the media.
