San Fransisco, California - In an incident occurring shortly before 10pm on July 4th in Dolores Park, Roisin Isner, 16, was injured after a passerby threw a firecracker that exploded near her right hand. Isner, drummer for popular local girl punk band Tinkture was transported to San Fransisco General Hospital where according to an email released by her father Chris Isner she will undergo surgery to repair her hand. Mr. Isner stated in this email that is was likely that his daughter will loose her index finger and that the rest of her hand will be permanently disfigured.

San Fransisco police have little evidence and no leads at this time, after canvasing the area after the explosion.

“They were just sitting there chatting, then they saw a bright flash between them and the girl started screaming,” said San Francisco police Sgt. Steve Mannina to the San Fransisco Chronicle.

“We don’t have a whole lot,” he said. “We’re definitely looking for more witnesses.”

Tinkture was formed in 2002 and then played various local art events and city sponsored daytime festivals until they kicked out their drummer in 2004. Roisin Isner then joined the band, having little experience behind the kit. Apparently she is a quick learner and has been pounding the skins for Tinkture ever since, playing such notable Bay Area clubs as Slims and 924 Gilman. Isner also volunteers her time at various local children centers and was recently admitted to the honors program at Dominican University in San Rafael on full scholarship with classes to start next month.
