T-TOWN TIDBITS, UPDATE STYLE

T-TOWN WEEKEND UPDATE

Temecula, CA –T-town remained the largest and fastest growing city by posting almost 98K population in the growth column figures this past week. Murrieta (Murr-ville) also had a reported gain but stayed in second place in the valley in what ‘locals’ have longed observed as an unofficial ‘horse race’, or p***ing contest as the regulars at Joannie’s Cantina would say over their cold Duff. The earlier post with Murr-ville in the lead was due to my squinting and trying to read the city population signs at a distance. And they say when you get old your memory is the first thing to go, hah!

Temecula, CA – Premiere Innovations, Inc., a company that started out in Murrieta before moving to larger space in Temecula, filed suit against IWAS Industries by serving owner Don Hitt in his home state of Arkansas. The makers of the Universal Finger Light, a novel approach to portable light that delights all who see it, just recently rolled out their entire line of unique products at the National Hardware Show held in Orlando, Florida. While not at liberty to discuss the ongoing case details, the company’s product manager simply said, “Nobody rolls us over in the clover, noooboddy!”

Temecula, CA – Margarita Middle School played host to the first community open meeting for the city’s Youth Master Plan. After spending over $80,000 at a San Diego consulting firm to come to the conclusion that some form of activities/interests are needed for the huge local adolescence market (Murr-Ville dealt with this issue at city charter birth), Mayor Chuck Washington, a professional pilot, opened the meeting that started with a quick run-down of goals and itinerary from the program leaders. Along with concerned ‘rents with kids, educators like Chaparral’s Cathy Crawford, and Bill, Jeney, and Apryl representing Full Value Entertainment, recent ‘local drama’ (see ‘Damn The Man’ – archives) dictated the strong presence of the Vault’s loyal locals, led by owner Riccardo and promoter Ivan. Their posse, all wearing white bandanas that were made by Crystal, security crewman Charles’s girlfriend, bore the words, ‘we want the vault’. Input garnered from the 6 groups formed from the audience is to be used in developing the YMP, but a number of real-time right now ideas came forward for the interim.
