Allison Cornell is scheduled to appear at The Merc in Old Town Temecula, April 28th
April 20, 2007 by Bill Gould, Publisher.
Temecula, California - Allison is touring in support of her independently released debut CD, “Pretty Colored Lights”. The album, which contains 10 original tracks and two covers of artists she’s toured with - is an eclectic blend of jazz infused pop, R&B and Americana. It features Allison’s singing and arranging, as well as her keyboard, violin/viola, guitar, and mandolin playing. The guest musicians on these recordings include: Joe Jackson, Graham Maby, Cindy Lauper, Mike Viseglia (longtime Suzanne Vega bassist) and guitar aces Jon Herington and Kat Dyson.
The Club at the Merc will be one stop on Allison’s upcoming tour, which has already taken her from New York to California. She plans to stay on the road until her new job as Suzanne Vega’s bandmate starts this summer.
Allison’s solo show is comprised of a dual keyboard setup and an acoustic guitar, with enhancements from her laptop computer which fill in the vocal and instrumental performance with a few elements from the fully produced CD.
No stranger to the rigors of the road Allison has worked with a diverse range of artists including Joe Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Suzanne Vega, Shania Twain, Angelique Kidjo, Jann Arden, Tracy Chapman, Pat Benatar, Ann-Margret and Ronnie Spector. Her recording credits include work with Cyndi Lauper, Jann Arden, Pat Benatar, Joe Jackson, Rachael Sage, Carter Burwell, Angelo Badelmente and Branford Marsalis.
