SUSPECT FOUND: Female thrown out of car and dies in Hemet

Hemet, California - On Thursday, April 05, 2007, about 6:55 AM, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a citizen who witnessed a man pushing a Hispanic female adult out of a white sedan. The driver of the white sedan then drovebryan russell away. The incident occurred off of Castile Canyon Rd. near Poppet Flats Rd., an unincorporated area of San Jacinto.

Deputies from the Hemet Station responded to the scene and located a deceased female. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit was called to assume the investigation.

During a search for the suspect, deputies were able to locate an unoccupied white sedan. Investigators were working to determine if the found vehicle is related to this incident. The deceased female has not yet been positively identified.

UPDATE: Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit focused on Bryan “BJ” Russell, 21 year-old resident of San Jacinto, as a person of interest. Investigators attempted to contact and question him about his involvement in the murder of Felecia Avalos.

On Friday, April 13, 2007, about 8:00 PM, Bryan Russell turned himself in at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Hemet Station. Russell was arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center for the charge of murder.
