DARK HAVEN ARMY MARCHES PAST ANOTHER NIGHTMARE
DARK HAVEN STILL HEAVY IN METAL DEPT.
Temecula, CA – It’s official now, so I can break the news I had to keep a lid on when I first learned of it (sorry, Sports Fans but I have to keep my journalist integrity intact). Brandon, the bass player and lead singer of the popular local heavy metal group, DARK HAVEN, has left the band. News of this filtered down on Wednesday as the band scrambled to make the necessary adjustments for the second grand opening show at Ric Mannoia’s The Vault, T-town’s newest all ages venue located on the street just behind the AM-PM on Winchester and Jefferson, look for the Sound of Music banner.
‘Creative differences’ would best describe the separation which began to evidence itself into the last tour. As some of you may or may not know, a band tour will either bring band members closer or expose the minds and egos that are not in sync. Playing shows in your hometown is like the ‘honeymoon’ of a band. Sure the load-in and load-out is a pain, but you get to play the show and then say good-night to each other. Many times wives or girlfriends are in the audience for emotional support and after the show affectionate attention. On the road life is tougher, you all smell together (showers are a luxury), have to put up with everyone’s ‘morning’ and all day breath, and usually there is no one to kiss ‘it’ and make it all feel better. Nerves fray as you bond together into a cohesive unit, because ‘band’ is the musical term for ‘team’. We at Full Value Review wish Brandon all the best in his future and ‘Godspeed’ for DARK HAVEN in finding their next vocalist and bassist.
