WHEN CHICKENS COME HOME TO ROOST 

Temecula, CA – A while back I reported in the Review that I had found an unlicensed and shoddy ‘knockoff’ of the Universal Finger Light, a unique and novel gadget marketed by T-town’s own Premiere Innovations, in a ‘grab’ bowl at the Walgreens down the hill from where I live (see archive story, ‘Consumer Alert’). Imagine my surprise when shopping at a bargain store the other day and buying a sample size of Coty’s Rimmel Fragrance ‘London Cool’, I happened to turn the box over and see a sticker that said in all caps: ‘This item intended for sale at Walgreens(,) if found at other outlets call 1-800-666-5677’. If there was any doubt to the perfidy of this old time and once honorable company, the ‘666’ of their toll free number sums it up correctly. As for selling ‘knockoffs’ of other people’s products (’You down with OPP, yeah you know me’) and then whining when someone ‘knocks’ you off, I have a toll free number for Walgreens to call, dial 1-800-EAT-SHIT.
