‘GIVING IT UP FOR YOUR LOVE’ – THE VAULT INVIEW
Temecula, CA – As T-town gets ready for back-to-back music shows this weekend to draw attention to the grand opening of the newest all ages venue, The Vault, and Ivan Promotions ‘flyers’ the local high schools in Murrieta and Temecula, I thought I would pop in and check the progress of construction since my last visit a week or so ago (see archive story, ‘Breaking Scene News’). Walking into the venue, which is located next door to Abbey Rents on Enterprise Circle North just west past Jefferson, off Winchester Road, the first thing you notice is that the spots & pots along with the sound system boasting JBL towers/subs and Yamaha monitors, purchases all from San Marcos’ Guitar Center are in place,. “I got a deal on (the sound system) through a buddy that works there,” says Riccardo Mannoia. When asked if that is ‘helping the competition’, Ric smiles and says, “They are not competition any more now that we’re doing this,” motioning to the wide expanse of floor in front of the new stage. “We opened The Sound of Music in ’93 but when we moved over here (to the new location), we expanded the (music) teaching facilities and reduced the retail operation. We have always been a retail music store offering music lessons within. Now we are the area’s largest, in square footage, students, amount of teachers and subjects, so we gave the teaching side it’s own name, the Temecula Valley School of Music.
