Shoot and Run: Armed suspect loose in the Temecula Valley
Winchester (French Valley), California - On April 9, 2007 at about 930am, sheriff deputies responded to the DeLuz Nursery, (Leon and Keller Roads) regarding a subject who had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, an 18-year-old male, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. CDF and AMR stabilized the victim and then transported him to a local hospital.
Subsequent investigation revealed the following:
At about 0915 hours, the suspect, 20-year-old Jesus Arreola Aguilar, approached the victim who was working at the nursery. After a short verbal exchange, the suspect produced an unknown type rifle and began firing at the victim. The victim fled on foot after being shot, however, he fell to the ground a short distance away. The suspect continued toward the victim, firing additional rounds before he fled. The suspect drove away in an early model, lowered 90’s Toyota truck, burgundy in color with a cracked windshield and missing a tailgate.
At this time, the motive for the shooting appears to be jealousy over a girlfriend.
The suspect, Jesus Aguilar, is described as a male Hispanic, 20 yrs old, 5′ 10″, slender build, shaved head and hazel eyes. He normally wears blue jeans, white tennis shoes, and a red ball cap. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The condition of the victim is unknown at this time however his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
