Murder in Murrieta: Woman found dead, unidentified male passed out next to her

Murrieta, California - On Monday March 19 2007 at approx. 1115am, Murrieta police officers responded to the Sonoma at Mapleton apartment complex regarding a check the welfare on a female resident of the complex. The reporting person was an acquaintance of the victim who had a phone conversation with the victim before 1000am from a location outside Riverside County. The reporting person heard the victim yelling in fear as though she may have been confronted by someone, then the phone was disconnected. When the victim did not report for work at 1000 hours, the reporting person was concerned enough to drive to her apartment. With the assistance of the apartment management, entry was made inside the apartment. The female victim was found on the floor inside the master bedroom of the apartment with another unidentified male on top of her body. Both the male and female were found to be unclothed.

The decedant is described as a 34 year old Hispanic female. The other unidentified male is described as a male African-American in his late 30s.

DUI Arrest: Drunk man injures family in Temecula

Temecula, California - On March 19th, about 3:30pm, officers from the Temecula Police Departments Traffic Team responded to a collision on Meadows Parkway, at the intersection with Pauba Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that Shane Garcia, 33 of Temecula was traveling southbound on Meadows Parkway and failed to stop for a stop sign at Pauba Road. Garcia was driving a Black Ford F-150 which struck a silver Yukon broadside.

Driver Alert: DUI checkpoint to be held Saturday, March 24 in Perris Area

RIVERSIDE COUNTY - On Saturday, March 24, 2007, law enforcement officers across Riverside County will be out in force combating drunk driving. Law enforcement officers throughout Riverside county will be on patrol arresting violators on Saturday night that chose to drink alcoholic beverages and drive their automobiles, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced today. The concentrated effort is a program known as “AVOID the 30″ which includes saturation patrols involving 31 law enforcement agencies in Riverside County. The “AVOID the 30″ program will also be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the City of Perris.”Our message is clear: drinking and driving in Riverside County will not be tolerated,” said Riverside County Sheriff Bob Doyle. “Driving under the influence is a crime that is 100 percent preventable.”
