Busted: Temecula’s Sage Canyon Apartments Pot Dealers up in smoke

Temecula, California - On March at about 730pm, deputies from the Temecula Police Department’s Street Enforcement Unit served a narcotics related search warrant at a resident in the Sage Canyon Apartments, 42200 Moraga Rd in Temecula.

After searching the apartment, marijuana, scales, pay/owe sheets, cash, and a weapon were recovered. Everett Randolph, 30 years old, of Temecula, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sales. Johnnye Lee Smith, 27 years old, of Temecula was arrested for possession of marijuana for sales. Both suspects were booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

Temecula, California - Deputies from the Temecula Police Department’s Street Enforcement Unit developed information on a commercial burglary crew who were burglarizing the businesses in the Temecula, Murrieta, and Escondido area. This crew was responsible for over $350,000.00 in collective losses. A combination of investigative sources provided locations and names for all of the burglary suspects.

On March 7, 2007, Temecula Street Enforcement Team members, along with Escondido Police Department Detectives and Murrieta Police Detectives executed four search warrants in the City of Escondido in an attempt to recover possible stolen property and dismantle this commercial burglary crew. This two county operation resulted in multiple arrests and the recovery of over 400,000.00 dollars in stolen property.

David Hall, 26 years old, of Escondido was arrested for Possession of stolen property, multiple counts of Commercial burglary, Possession of methamphetamine for sales, and being a convicted felon in possession of a loaded handgun. Nicole Carter, 26 years old, of Escondido was arrested for possession of stolen property, commercial burglary, and possession of methamphetamine. David Hall Sr. of Escondido was arrested for a no bail warrant.

This is an on going investigation with a large amount of recovered property. If anyone has been a victim of a commercial burglary, reported or not, in the Temecula and Murrieta area, please contact respective detective divisions for potential viewing times of the recovered property.

DUI Alert: Drunks steer clear of Moreno Valley on March 23, Checkpoint Ahead

Moreno Valley, California - On March 23 2007 from 6pm till 2am, the Moreno Valley Police Department, in its continued dedication to public safety, will be conducting a DUI / DL CHECKPOINT. This checkpoint is part of the ongoing public safety awareness effort being made by the City of Moreno Valley. The focus of the checkpoint will be to reduce DUI and injury collisions, while removing drunk drivers from the roadway. The Moreno Valley Police Department takes a proactive approach in the education of our citizens and enforcement of the laws dealing with drinking and driving. This Checkpoint Operation is made possible through a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). The grant provides funding to staff DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints at various times throughout the year to reduce drunk driving and apprehend drivers with suspended and/or revoked licenses.

Drunk driving is a major cause of fatal and injury collisions each year. We are seeking your assistance in saving lives. If you are on the roadways and you observe a possible drunk driver call 911 immediately. Officers will be dispatched to the location and make every effort to prevent the impaired driver from continuing to pose a threat.
