Temecula, California - On March 04, 2007, about 6:44 P.M., the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Perris Station, received a call of a stolen vehicle. A vehicle pursuit was then initiated. Iowa’s Green Grocer

A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR THE FOLKS BACK HOME

Most of you know that I hail from Kentucky but I also lived in Iowa, so here’s a little something for my friends back there.

You wouldn’t look at Larry Cleverley and think ‘Wall Street’ executive when you see him every Saturday at the Des Moines (no ‘s’, you out-of-towners) Farmers’ Market. His long, flowing gray hair and muddy boots just don’t go with a business suit. Being as he’s the one surrounded by shoppers and touting the merits of roquette with more spice and radicchio to provide better balance, Larry has made it his mission to educate the good folks of Iowa about the virtues of organic vegetables. Shoppers snap up his fresh lollo rosa, arugula, and mizuna. It was fate that brought Larry back to the Mingo, Iowa, and gave him the opportunity to turn the farm that’s been in his family for generations into a sustainable farming oasis. Now Larry’s produce is a mainstay at nearly all of the region’s better restaurants and dinner plates all across Iowa.

(This article goes out to all my friends back in Iowa and to the gourmet veggie musical group, KEENWILD, who are good at whipping up tasty non-meat dishes.)

Product Test: Reynolds Wrap ‘Release’ Non-Stick Aluminum Foil

So I decided to bake some cookies the other day. I love cookies alot, and buy them all the time; however, not too often do I actualy bake them myself. I am lazy like that. I thought the easy way and purchased some of this ‘Release’ Non-Stick Foil. I opened the package and noticed the foil was different, it was new and slick. I spread it out on the cookie sheet with the correct side facing up and slapped down my cookies and tossed them in the oven for 12 minutes. I removed them from the oven and let them set for about 10 minutes to cool. I then performed ‘the test’. I grabbed the cookie sheet, being sure to grab the edges of the foil and turned the cookies upside down. Every last cookie on the sheet fell off of the foil and on to the counter with no effort. It was a perfect score on the test, and the foil gets the Full Value seal of approval.
