TVHS SAYS ICU TO INVISIBLE CHILDREN

TVHS INVISIBLE CHILDREN EVENT A VISIBLE SUCCESS
Temecula, CA – The aptly named ‘Entertainment Night’ hosted by the Temecula Valley High School club, Invisible Children United, which meets every Tuesday/Thursday in Ms. Hogerheiden’s Room 305 during lunch hour (12:50 PM – 1:35PM), was so successful that when I arrived, fashionably late as always, the door greeters were out of programs, proving that community passion still exists for this ‘cause’ that deals directly with children suffering by adults’ hands. When’s the last time you ran out of programs at your church?
The program moved along in an organized way co-hosted by Zina and Emi, team leaders in the club, who took turns announcing acts, with my fav being the Stompers troupe. Several trendy shops and restaurants like The Coffee Bean, Jamba Juice, and BJ’s, just to name a few, donated items and gift baskets that were raffled off by the ICU Crew to the crowd of concerned students and parents. In a high school ‘crossover’ Jackie, a student from Great Oaks High School, located across the valley, invited the audience to attend their Global Awareness event called ‘Potluck For Progress’ hosted by the clubs VSPA, LiNK, HOPE, and STAND, to help orphaned children in North Korea, on March 24th, from 1PM-4PM in the GOHS gym.
Then the lights dimmed as Lauren Hogerheiden, herself planning to go teach high school students aka ‘invisible children’ in Uganda for seven weeks this summer during her break, narrated and showed clips from the film ‘Invisible Children – Rough Cut’ to a ‘I-can-hear-a-pin-drop’ quiet audience. She followed this with a question and answer period that highlighted the ‘Displace ME’ upcoming event in LA (see here) and the ‘Night of Music At The Theatre’ ICU event at the Temeku Cinemas on May 11th. As this was taped by a student, you may see this ‘entertainment’ show up on YouTube someday.
