THE STATE OF THE SCENE - TEMECULA 2007

As I look back to the turn of the century at this burg I call home, I can only shake my head at the progress the new music scene has made, especially recently. The scene that once was my personal muscial territory I now see in the local mainstream press (North County’s Californian) on a more regular basis than they post news to their MSNBC local news site, the most recent being a piece about the band, American Hitman. The free tabloids now hit the scene also, ‘Vince Chiofalo, set to play Hoagie Barmicheals (949-275-2392) Feb.,7th, 7PM’ - Entertainment Roundup, Vince aka NICE DAY and ‘Twenty Local Bands Battle For $5000′ - The Valley News 2/26/07. Full Value Television streams videos from competing venues as technology continue to filter down to the innovative market savvy promoters and performers, all bent on capturing an audience. All this churn is great for the new music lover because this variety of news sources keeps the buzz going about the scene, which in turn draws more new music out. Stir into this scene explosion the ‘Hollywood’ ingredient of also making a movie about said ’scene’ and you begin to understand my excitement about the homegrown scene here that is thriving. One can only wonder what this flowering market will launch next :)??
