10 SECOND COMMENTARY
November 8, 2006 by PT Rothschild.
THE 12TH QUOTE TO PROVE G.W. HAS AN IQ OF 91
When asked about the dismal election results concerning the Republican Party, President Bush summed up the various and sundry cause and effect, saying the GOP took a “thumpin’”. Adding to that concise and astute summation further the Prez remarked that ‘he thought they (the Republican Party) had a pretty good chance at it going in, shows you what I know.’ Leno and Letterman have got to be loving this.

TOKERS TAKE A THUMPIN’ AT THE POLLS
November 8, 2006 by PT Rothschild.
MEDICAL MARIJUANA BALLOT MEASURES TAKE A THUMPIN’ ON ELECTION DAY
The ‘nays’ have it when it comes to getting pot ‘legit’ in the states of Nevada, South Dakota, and Colorado. Adult pot reform and medical marijuana ballot initiatives were soundly defeated in all three states as MPP and other pro pot organizations took a ‘thumpin’ at the polls this past November 7th, ’06. Perhaps it was that the new drug czar traveled to those states at your expense, dear reader and tax payer, to threaten, bully, befuddle and buy, with Federal grants, any group he could into opposing the pro pot measures. Perhaps it was the ads the Feds ran, the ones that blamed pot for everything except Britney Spears’ breakup, that stampeded the party ‘faithful’ to touch the ‘no’ side of the screen. Perhaps it was the phone canvassing done in the last weeks spreading blatant lies and propaganda that fanned the anti-pot constituency’s flame that consumed all the ‘yes’ votes cast. Whatever the reason, the people have spoken and so pot (and the use of ‘earth-saving HEMP) will remain out of legal reach for the people of those states.
(editor’s note: on the surface of this report, you would think I would be disheartened by the ballot box loss, knowing my ‘pro’ stance on the subject, but I’m not!! For the reason why, please read: ‘Back To The Basics, The Solution To The Feds Reefer Madness’, appearing soon on Beyond Societys Control, see thumbnail link this page – PT)

Gig reports and editorial comments for the week Nov 8, 2006
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey, Hey, Hey-
That slightly sick feeling I’ve been carrying around about America since 2000 is better today. I never lost faith in the people and the system, and they came through. Thanks for caring and voting. We didn’t get everything we wanted, but we woke up the smug corporocrats out of their daydream. Congratulations! You did it!
There is a meeting at the town of YV Thurs eve. In which they will talk about lights again. I got several notes about it. I think the time is 7, but you’d better check for sure. There are several notes about it in the ‘comments’. You can come over to the SPRC show at the WC after the show and tell us what went down.
Sometime between Saturday night and Tuesday, someone walked out with the 2 house mic stands at the Water Canyon. I am sure it was an accident, but we would like to get them back if possible. They were the kind that have squeeze grips to move them up and down and were the only ones like that I’ve seen around here. Interestingly, I had donated a Shure-type mic clip to replace a broken one, and whomever took the stands unscrewed my clip and left it on the table; maby because it had my logo sticker from the sound company on it.
Thanks for all the positive comments on the election special posting. Let’s get out this weekend and celebrate. I’ll see you out there.
Dat’s all for now.
Work like you don’t need the money.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like nobody’s watching.
Sing like nobody’s listening.
Stay in tune.
(regarding Alice and Albert’s performance Saturday night at the WC)
stev0
Saturday night was a truly special evening. The love in the room for Alice and Albert was like a big warm cloud. Albert was so wired from the performance that he even went out to Denny’s for breakfast and and stayed up a couple more hours watching a movie. It was a real honor to be on the stage with someone who has truly been to Hell and back and handled it so well. I have really enjoyed working with Alice and Albert. They are very special people.
I have been extremely busy lately but look forward to coming back to the Tues jam in a few weeks. Adios for now, Mark
Hi Steve: I just want to say thanks for your diligence when it comes to these momentous political times. Finally, I am beginning to sense some progress against the mindless lemmingness that has allowed this administration to corrupt, absolutely, our wonderful system of governance. It has been important to me during these politically lonely times to know I could count on a voice of informed reason when I read your offerings. Keep it up my friend.
I love the tape of the set last spring you gave me. I am so glad you were taping. It was a great set and you did a great job.
Dear Friends/Neighbors/Colleagues:
Last Thursday, I accepted a new job outside of the National Parks Conservation Association. On January 2, 2007, I will begin serving as the Executive Director of the Forest Guild (www.forestguild.org), whose mission is to promote responsible forestry that sustains forest ecosystems and the human communities dependent upon them. The Guild provides training, policy analysis, and research to foster excellence in stewardship, to support practicing foresters and allied professionals, and to engage a broader community in the challenges of forest conservation and management. The organization is based in Santa Fe, NM. My last work day with NPCA will be on December 15.
I share this news with mixed emotions because on one hand I am enthused about this great work opportunity and to live in northern New Mexico. On the other hand, I will miss working on behalf of California’s desert parks. I will miss working with the amazing residents of the desert communities, the dedicated Park Service employees, outstanding colleagues and activists, and NPCA’s generous members and supporters. I am grateful to have worked with you…you have all taught me a great deal. And I will miss being regularly awash in the beauty of Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Mojave, and the wilderness in between. The last
3-1/2 years have been an experience of a lifetime…thanks for helping to make it unforgettable!
NPCA’s management remains committed to our California Desert program and plans to fill my position. More news on that before I depart. I have many commitments on behalf of the desert parks–with many of you–between now and December 15th. Those commitments still stand, so keep me in your appointment book and on your agenda.
Sincerely, Howard
Dear Da Prez,
I really don’t think that Mr. Jesus will be arriving any time soon, but according to Nostradamus, it’ll be closer to the next millenium. The monks and priests who have been translating & tampering with the translations of the Bible have inserted and deleted their own personal agendas, I believe, so it does well NOT to take it too literally. Anything too negative in it doesn’t jive with teh rest of the message. Even Thomas Jefferson ‘cut out’ from the Bible any passages he disagreed with, I’ve read. (maybe about him banging his slave girl and having 6 kids with her?) So tell these street-corner Bible thumpers to give it a rest, I know its all I can do to stop my car from running over them….Yeah, He’s a-comin’ but not today. And it’ll be by osmosis from the other dimension not by plane…and He pretty much understands ALL languages since He knows it all. I used to be Zen Buddhist, Jewish and Christian and now just roll them all up into one big general message that is way cool, but not dogmatic, ya know? Check out that ’60s book, “God is For Real, Man” Its hep.
Right on, brother Yours truly, Calamity Babs Renton, YV
Hey, hey, hey…señor Prez,
Your pretentious post is okay with me and I like it when a family gets together to discuss voting. Matter of fact, I like it when friends and people in general get together and discuss issues…we all profit from discussion.
Now about voting, my personal opinion is to look at issues and only issues. Friends will just have to understand how independent I am and get over whatever opinion they disagree with. I personally voted for Arnold because he does listen to the constituents and is the only Governor that has openly opposed the idiot leading this country (Cheney)…and most Republican issues concerning the environment. Phil Angeledes is too weak and has offered little to judge him by (my opinion). Other than that, we agree on most issues (not surprisingly) except the ambiguity of Paul Cook.
Now Paul wants English only in a State that set down the rules on language under the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. Kearny did not win California, suffering a horrible defeat when he entered California under the leadership of Andreas Pico…and was allowed to retreat to New Mexico. California is a dual language state as is New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. Paul “P.P.” Cook would work to stop that even though as an educator he should know that children learn best by not changing their language. Paul Cook would be one of a few that cannot speak Spanish in Sacramento. He hates the Comanche and has said they were evil and vicious and used WMD’s. He cannot even say Hasta later baby! If he cannot learn Spanish how will he do with Chinese?
Consider that the Governor pronounces the name of Kali-Fornee-ah, better than most residents. Besides, I suspect that Cook ran as a Marine Colonel because Rita Dean has her doctorate and she has out ranked him as an educator for sometime now. She is also in favor of a work program for the illegal’s that come here to work. How did this get into a State Office dialog…it is a Federal issue? I totally agree that Paul is a gentleman but also part of the problem with what is going on in this basin with development. Remember the BIA was allowed to dictate no impact fees under Cook and Mayes direct support.
Well my friend, may the best win and may the Neo Cons be stuffed back into the hole from which they emerged.
In Spirit, da constituent
If you know anyone whom you think would like to receive this newsletter, please have them send me an email to info@new-moon-records.com . Also, lately, some of the big inet providers are filtering out newsletters of this type (blind copied) assuming it is spam. If anyone you know received this publication before and doesn’t receive it now, it is probably for that reason. If you have that problem, you need to set the filtering to allow emails from www.new-moon-records.com through. If you don’t use filtering, just be sure that the address info@new-moon-records.com is in your address book. Finally, if you would prefer to not receive this newsletter, or have received it by mistake, send an email back saying ‘cancel newsletter’ in the heading. Your excuse may be written, if you like, no less than 100 words, in the body of the email.
