“BULLSHOT CRUMMOND” LANDS AT THE HI-DESERT PLAYHOUSE
October 9, 2006 by Bill Gould, Publisher.
JOSHUA TREE, CA – Before Inspector Clouseau, before Detective Frank Drebin, there was “Bullshot Crummond.” Opening October 13th at the Hi-Desert Playhouse, this hilarious comedy is set in the 1930’s and is a wonderful takeoff of “B” detective movies, with a fair helping of Sherlock Holmes thrown in. Celebrating its 43rd year, the Hi-Desert Playhouse has managed to secure the talents of international award winning actor and playwright Ron House to direct and star in his own play. Having written and starred in the original London and New York productions, House’s play was an instant success when it opened in London’s West End and New York’s Broadway. By the early eighties, it had been turned into a major film produced by late Beatle George Harrison, where Mr. House recreated his role. By the mid-eighties, it had become one of the most successful plays of all time. The international awards the play has won are only matched by the deeds and awards of Crummond himself. In many ways, the Hi-Desert Playhouse regards this as a major coup for the theatre. Having the chance to work with an internationally renowned director and actor may be a once in a lifetime experience for the cast, crew and audience. Come and watch Bullshot as he delves into the fiendish plot of Otto Von Bruno. Witness a thrilling car chase. Gasp at the horrendous plane crash! Stay on the edge of your seat during the final sword fight! Can Bullshot save the world from the evil Von Bruno? You can’t miss this fantastic melodrama. “Bullshot Crummond” opens October 13th, 2006, and continues through November 5th, 2006. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm with Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm.
