HIGH DESERT MEDICAL NEWS

MAPP September meetings.

The Sunday, Sept. 2 meeting at the Cathedral City Public Library begins at 3 p.m. and features Lynette Shaw, Libertarian Party candidate for state Attorney General and the owner/manager of the Clinic/Dispensary operated by the Marin County Alliance for Medical Marijuana. Ms. Shaw brings a very different perspective to the race for State Attorney General – one that is influenced greatly by her work on issues surrounding medicinal marijuana and particularly her experiences in working with local officials to be able to provide marijuana to patients. Come hear a woman who is truly making a difference for all of us. The Cathedral City Library is located at 33520 Date Palm Drive, one block north of Dinah Shore and across the street from the U.S. Post Office.

The Wednesday, September 13 meeting at the Joshua Tree Community begins at 7:30 p.m. and features Ronnie Naulls from the new dispensary in Corona. They have been having some headaches from the Corona City Council, but they have survived them all including the most recent one in which a lawsuit filed against them by the city of Corona was tossed out of court. Ronnie is a dynamic young man who is really out there accomplishing a lot and his presentation is sure to be inspiring and empowering. The Joshua Tree Community Center is located in Joshua Tree at 6171 Sunburst Ave., - just about one-fourth mile from the main highway.

In addition to our guest speakers, we will bring you up to date about what is going on and, of course, answer any and all of your questions. Coming to a meeting is the first big step to getting involved and helping insure that your access to medicinal marijuana is protected and that the law will be carried out as it was intended to be by the voters of California. If you haven’t ever been to a meeting, it’s time to do it. If you haven’t been to a meeting in a long time, this is the time to finally come to one again. And if you have been regularly attending, well then, I don’t have to tell you anything cause you already know the value, enjoyment and rewarding experiences that always come out of your attendance at our meetings.

10 SECOND COMMENTARY

After watching the four hour special on Bob Dylan, presented on PBS the other night, I realized that one of Bob’s most revolutionary songs in his career had been left out. Such a glaring omission called attention to itself by its very absence. The subject: pot! The song: ‘Everybody Must Get Stoned’. How insidious is it when the government’s pot prohibition can direct disinformation in Public Broadcasting?
