JOSHUA TREE - Featured last year by National Geographic, Celestial RhythmsTM is a phenomenal outdoor music program held under the Joshua Tree desert night skies that combines a community drum circle, celestial viewing through high-powered telescopes, musical performances and enlightening presentations. The highlight of the evening occurs when all participants, regardless of musical experience, join in an exhilarating 300-person drum circle led by world-class facilitator Christine Stevens. Every participant chooses their own instrument among a large collection of world-traveled ethnic drums supplied by REMO. This innovative, interactive, family-oriented music program directs participants toward community building and awareness of the desert’s wonders—all in an atmosphere of fun and educational entertainment! Celestial RhythmsTM will take place on August 26 at 8:00 PM at the Hi-Desert Playhouse & Cultural Center. This year, the program will offer participants a new bonus: a special, FREE! class on drum technique in the Performance Hall prior to the massive outdoor drum circle. Also, in the Main Theatre, participants will be treated to interpretive presentations of native Cahuilla Indian lore of the celestial star formations found in our desert night skies. Complimentary refreshments will be provided. Tickets are limited and are now available for only $28.00.
