Hi from Ritmo Loco,
We regret to inform you at this late date that the Ritmo Loco Afro-Cuban Jazz Quintet will not be performing at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace this Friday evening (8/4). The wife of our bassist is having major surgery on Friday, and in order to completely free him to be totally there for her and their two girls, we have cancelled our appearance.
We will be replaced for the evening by the outstanding Rojer Arnold Band, which will be featuring as a special guest artist violinist Bobby Furgo, and Bob Garcia (Ritmo’s guitarist) will fill in for Marv Schmelling on bass (Marv, our bassist, also plays with the RAB). Ritmo Loco would like to thank Rojer and the gang for stepping in to take up the slack; we’re glad that our replacement is such a high quality musical group–attendees will not be disappointed.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may bring you, and wish you all a wonderful weekend,
Sam Sloneker
760-369-9972 samslo@msn.com
PS: We’d also like to invite you to, perhaps, pause for a moment or two on Friday to send some prayers and good wishes to Marv Schmelling, his two daughters Lauren and Lizzie, and especially to his wife Robin.

If you like the oldies and goodies and folk music, you’ll enjoy singing along with Judy as she and friends share their stash of music, chords, harmonies and jam together. Don’t bring the amps or power or mics, there’s not enough power to support it. Strictly acoustical instruments please.

Hey Friends,
It seems that the time has come around again this year to vote for the San Diego Music Awards. This year I am nominated for Best Americana. If you have a moment, I’d truly appreciate your vote, as it takes friends like you (as many of them as possible!) for me to win.
Here’s the link: http://www.sdmusicawards.com/ scroll down to Vote Now! and click on that link, which takes you to the voting page. Fill in your name, email address and regular address (and be sure to click OFF the checkmark that puts you on the mailing list! I don’t want to get angry emails from my friends asking me why they got signed up for more spam!) Then just scroll down and look for Best Americana in the left column!
Easy as that! And what would help out even more is your assistance in passing this email along to everyone you know, so that they can vote for me too! I wanna win by a landslide this year!! Help me out!!
Much love and aloha, Arabella

I just received word, as perhaps have others who knew her, that Ellen Pierce, widow of the famed ceramist Howard Pierce, and a great lady in her own right, died peacefully last month in a nursing home in Redwood City. She was 98. Her family, Janet, Linda, (surnames?) and Jerry, can be reached at 1028 Eden Bower Lane, Redwood City, CA 94061. Jerry also at jerry@jerrypierce.org.

If you know anyone whom you think would like to receive this newsletter, please have them send me an email. Also, lately, some of the big inet providers are filtering out newsletters of this type (blind copied) assuming it is spam. If anyone you know received this publication before and doesn’t receive it now, it is probably for that reason. If you have that problem, you need to set the filtering to allow emails from www.new-moon-records.com through. If you don’t use filtering, just be sure that the address info@new-moon-records.com is in your address book. Finally, if you would prefer to not receive this newsletter, or have received it by mistake, send an email back saying ‘cancel newsletter’ in the heading. Your excuse may be written, if you like, no less than 100 words, in the body of the email.
